Some of Netflix's newest shows have earned a spot on the streamer's list of the most watched shows of all time. The latest addition to storm up the streaming chart was Wednesday, which has been watched for more than 1.2 billion hours, catapulting it into third place on the all-time list.
Ryan Murphy's serial killer series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story also took the streamer by storm earlier in 2022, rocketing up the charts with huge viewership. The series has now become Netflix's fourth most-watched show of all time, and it has even been renewed for a second season.
There were some other big entries in 2022 as well thanks to new seasons of Ozark, Stranger Things, and Bridgerton, too. Stranger Thing season 4 was released across two parts, with the first in May 2022 and the second in July 2022, giving it more than the usual 28 days to accumulate views. It certainly made an impact, becoming the most-watched English-language series on Netflix.
Although, even after it recorded more than one billion hours of viewing, Stranger Things still couldn't topple Squid Game as the most popular Netflix show of all time. The Korean drama about a sadistic game still reigns supreme on the platform – and it will take a lot to overtake those huge viewing figures.
To see what came close, check out the below list of Netflix's most streamed shows to date, broken down by seasons. And don’t worry, we'll keep updating this ranking when Netflix releases new data to see if any new series can match Squid Game's global success.
